The Focus of our program was readiness and resiliency. We were joined by the powerful duo of Ken Strange, long-time Director of Wimberley EMS, and Tim Temphor, the founder of Wimberley Rangers, and a Board Member of Barnabas Connection. Both men are veterans and deeply connected to Emergency Response and overall preparedness for disasters, both natural and manmade.

Living Historian and local legend Dr. Patrick Cox joined us on The Empowered Community. His unique perspective as the former editor of The Wimberley View newspaper, professor, philosopher, author, and conservationist served us well as we discussed the water issues in and around our Hill Country communities.

Our guest in studio was Susan Raybuck, the founder and Emeritus Board Member of KWVH Wimberley Valley Radio. Susan talked with us about the initial reasons for launching KWVH as an information resource during emergencies, and her challenges in getting a broadcast license from the FCC. We were amazed by her determination and her powerful story.

Powerful double topic show, as we hosted Scott George, master Arborist and owner of Austin Beautiful Trees. Scott discussed care of our trees and responses to the recent and devastating ice storms of early February. 

Lauren Peterson of Texas Medicinals joined us in our second hour to discuss powerful home medicines made from plants and herbs growing right in your backyard. 

February 17, 2023 Show

Joining us was compelling guest Jed Regante, owner of Hill Country Rainwater. The topic was water security. Jed is a long-time Wimberley business owner with deep experience in rainwater harvesting, and green, sustainable construction methods. He spoke with us about the advantages of having a rainwater system as a backup, and as a method of practicing water conservation with our precious aquifers.

Jesse Huth, Wimberley's very own Chicken Man, will join our show to talk about raising chickens for sustainability and food security. Jesse is the owner of Huth Avian. He has traveled the world as a birder, having just returned from a trip to Equador observing a migration. Jesse has been featured in Texas Monthly, The Audubon Society, KXAN News, and many other media outlets. His show "Squawk Talk" is heard on KWVH 94.3 every Sunday from 12:30-1:00 CT.
